Tchaikovsky is considered a classic composer because of his exceptional talent in creating emotionally powerful and melodically rich music. His compositions, such as "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," and his symphonies, are widely regarded as masterpieces of the Romantic era. The Overture Romeo and Juliet by Peter Tchaikovsky uses a wide range of instruments to create its dramatic and emotional impact. Some of the main instruments used in this piece include the strings (violins, violas, cellos, and double basses), woodwinds (flutes, oboes, clarinets, and bassoons), brass (trumpets, trombones, and French horns), and percussion (timpani, cymbals, and snare drum). Tchaikovsky also makes use of the harp and the full power of the orchestra to convey the passion and tragedy of Shakespeare's famous love story. **

Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Chopin, and other composers are referred to as classical music composers because they were part of the Romantic era of classical music. The term "classical music" is often used as an umbrella term to refer to a broad range of Western art music, including music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern eras. While these composers may not have strictly adhered to the Classical period style, their music is still considered part of the broader classical music tradition due to its complexity, formal structure, and historical significance. **
